In the latest Dev Diary video from the Splinter Cell Blacklist team, we are given some behind the scenes looks at the cooperative play and learn that this isn’t your run of the mill multiplayer game. It is stressed that a single player cannot take on these co-op missions on their own – that their partner is definitely needed to ensure success. What may be even more interesting is that the missions were designed to be diverse, in that the two players don’t need to follow a single linear path. They can separate to create their own strategies and tackle their objectives in a number of ways. Get the full coverage of this expansive multiplayer mode below. (more…)
That title doesn’t make any sense. Or does it? Check out the latest trailer for Bungie’s first non-Halo game since…Halo, and you may just see someone familiar in there. That’s right, the one and only Gustavo Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) lends himself to this trailer, acting as somewhat of a narrator for this CGI heavy minute and a half of mayhem. Unfortunately no game play is featured in this trailer, which is a disappointment to say the least. However, Sony has said that they will be unveiling game play at E3 2013 in just under three weeks time, so we don’t have much longer to wait, if that’s any consolation. For the time being, give this trailer a look see and get yourself pumped for E3. (more…)
Batgirl was released today as the latest DLC character for Injustice: Gods Among us, and in what seems to be becoming a trend, has gotten a trailer describing the history of her character from the comic books. The video explains how Barbara Gordon got into the vigilante crime fighting game and that the thrill of busting bad guy convinced her to keep with it. After a life-threatening attack by The Joker, Batgirl is back to take on the scum that almost put her in a wheel chair for life. See the full trailer below. (more…)
Check out this new, lengthy, fully CGI Batman: Arkham Origins trailer, where we get to see the Bat tango with the deadly Deathstroke, kick some minion butt, and even a brief and violent appearance by the one and only Black Mask. This is WB Montreal’s follow up trailer to the recent teaser we saw last week, and boy does it deliver. No game play is featured in the trailers released just yet, but there are plenty of screenshots below (along with the trailer itself) to hold you over until we get a real glimpse of what the game will offer at a later date.
One thing of note is that at the end of the trailer, Deathsrtroke is mentioned to be a playable character, with early access to him being granted for those people who pre-order the game. We were told that he would be available as a character in the Challenge Mode game type, but not the campaign, although that’s pretty obvious. (more…)
What would a Splinter Cell game be without a little co-op action on the side? Well Ubisoft, on their mission to ensure everyone everywhere will have something to look forward to in this latest installment of the franchise, is now showing off their co-op based missions in this latest trailer. Ubisoft informs us that there are 4 mission types and over 14 maps, on which you will be able to earn in game currency playing as either Sam Fischer or Isaac Briggs, which can be used to unlock special weapons and gadgets for use in your single player campaign. Best of all, Splinter Cell Blacklist will allow you to play co-op in splitscreen mode on the same console! See just some of the trouble Sam and Isaac will get in in the trailer and screenshots below. Today we got a sneak peak at a trailer for the upcoming title in the Arkham series, Batman Arkham Origins. When Warner Bros described this as a teaser trailer, they definitely weren’t kidding. What we see is a snippet of a cinematic fight between the Caped Crusader and Deathstroke, who we can only assume at this point, is one of the many villains to be featured in the game. The video ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, asking gamers to watch Arkham Origin’s facebook page on Monday, May 20th to see the full trailer. I can’t tell you much more than that, but I’m definitely anxious to see the full trailer next week. In the mean time, check out the teaser below. (more…)
Kalypso released another trailer today showing off more of the skills that you will have at your disposal in the vampiric stealth-action game, DARK. Skills featured in this video include a cloaking ability where you can get around enemies undetected, a hypnosis ability where I assume you have some form of mind control over specific guards, a confusion ability where your foes are stunned, and a teleportation ability, which seems pretty self explanatory. All of these supernatural abilities come with interesting animations and are seemingly intuitive to use. Be the judge yourself and check out the skills in the trailer below. (more…)
Monolith today has unveiled the latest character for Guardians of Middle-Earth, and this time it’s the guy who is a walking definition of bad dental hygiene (I have included an enlarged pic below for your viewing pleasure, just don’t look while eating), the one and only Mouth of Sauron. A defender class, which was a nice addition after Elrond, a tactician, and several strikers previously. Complete with life draining abilities, the Mouth of Sauron looks to be a decent addition to the ever expanding roster. Check out his trailer, bio and teeth (if you dare) below. (more…)
Everyone’s favorite ill tempered six foot tall turtle is the focus of Red Fly Studios’ latest character trailer for their upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows game. With his trademark sais at his disposal, his close range abilities seem rather good…and brutal. Seriously though, the amount of broken necks that the poor stuntmen in this trailer must have acquired is shocking. Lunge attacks, back flip neck breakers, body slams, forward smash neck breakers and punching guys repeatedly in their faces are just some of the awesome things this mutant can do. (more…)
The newest trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was released this week, and it gave gamers a bit of a history lesson on the world of pirates. The narrator explains the reasons why some men were lead to a life of piracy, and goes on to name a few of the most feared pirates of the era. While the trailer does not deal with Edward Kenway much directly, we have a reasonable idea of which foes we may encounter in the game’s campaign. The trailer finishes with a few battle sequences of Kenway decimating anyone who dares get in his way. Sit back for a bit of education in the trailer below. (more…)
