Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments Gets An Announce Trailer

January 31st, 2014 by

sherlock-holmes-crimes-and-punishment-logoOne of the world’s greatest (fictional) detectives has a new game coming out this year, and just yesterday, developers Frogwares gave us the first official full length trailer to prove it.  Not that it needed proof, but it did need a trailer!  Looking darker than one might expect for the character, it also seems to retain the wit that one would expect as well.  Crimes & Punishments is the seventh installment in the series, but is the first to be built on Unreal Engine 3 technology, allowing for a vastly upgraded experience in almost every possible way.  It is also a previous generation (Xbox 360 / PS3) and PC exclusive, so don’t unplug those paperweights we use to call consoles just yet. LocoCycle Tells Its Story In A Hilarious Live Action Trailer

November 7th, 2013 by

LococycleTwisted Pixel may very well be one of the funniest gaming studios around today.  If you’ve played Splosion Man, Comic Jumper, or Gunstringer, you already know what I mean.  The next title in their off-the-wall lineup is LocoCycle – the story of a self-aware motorcycle named I.R.I.S., who drags her rider around by his pant leg.  Twisted Pixel wasn’t sure if you’d believe that story, so they did the only thing they could – they made a live-action representation of it.  As silly as the premise is already, I can assure you it’s just as ridiculous, if not more-so, when played out in front of a camera.  See the trailer in all its comedic glory below. South Park: The Stick of Truth Launch Delayed & Giggling Donkey Gameplay Trailer

October 31st, 2013 by

south_park_stick_of_truth_logoThe latest trailer for the anticipated South Park: The Stick of Truth game was released today, which shows our heroes entering the Giggling Donkey pub seeking the Bard.  In classic South Park fashion, Butters is timid, Kenny plays along, and Cartman is needlessly but hilariously vulgar.  The team finally finds the Bard, played by Jimmy, in the pub’s basement, when they are thrown into battle against the Bard’s elves.  The animations looked just as if they had come from the show, and the combat options and dialogue were riddled with comedy.  If you’re a long-time fan of the series, then there are some gems in there that you’ll definitely appreciate.  Perhaps what’s more interesting, though, is that at the end of the trailer, a delayed release date for the game is shown. AC4 Builds Hype With Its Heist Trailer

October 4th, 2013 by

Assassins-Creed-4-LogoWith just a few weeks to go until launch day, I’m certain we’ll see a lot of buzz around Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.  Ubisoft released the game’s newest trailer this week which seems to be comprised of several cutscenes from the title, introducing us to the various primary characters we’ll encounter, and play as, in the game.  We’re also given a glimpse into the plot of this action/adventure game.  While it’s hard to decipher the specifics, it seems that Blackbeard and his crew plan to rob a gold-transport ship, but our protagonist, Edward Kenway, is caught in the middle while playing for both sides.  This is merely speculation, but the trailer certainly sets some high-hopes for a thrilling tale.  See the trailer for yourself below. South Park: The Stick of Truth Release Date and More Details Revealed [Trailer]

September 25th, 2013 by

south_park_stick_of_truth_logoSince its announcement, the status of South Park: The Stick of Truth has been a roller coaster of a story.  Hype started right away, with the promise of a South Park game which resembled an episode right out of TV.  However, when its publisher, THQ, unfortunately filed for bankruptcy, the project was purchased by Ubisoft Montreal.  While this acquisition saved the title from being swept under the rug, it did put a delay on the game’s launch to market.  In recent months, Ubisoft has stated the game would launch by Christmas, but today we finally have a concrete release date as well as the details surrounding the contests of The Grand Wizard Edition of the game.  Just to sweeten the pot, a new trailer debuted today, entitled Destiny, explaining the player’s role in this adventure game. Rocksmith 2014′s Guitarcade Mode Helps Teach Guitar In A Whole New Way

September 24th, 2013 by

rocksmith2014The Guitarcade Mode trailer for Rocksmith 2014 was released today, and it showed off many of the mini-games available in the upcoming guitar training game.  Who would have thought that you could learn guitar while playing a first person shooter?  Well Ubisoft thought it!  Each of the games featured in Guitarcade help the user learn a different technique or aspect to playing guitar.  In one game, the user must master scales to help their getaway car escape the pursuing police cruiser.  In another, the guitarist must play at appropriate volumes to help the on-screen character collect coins.  The interesting way in which each of these games teach their various lessons is incredible.  It helps take away the potential frustration expected when learning a new instrument by adding a gaming aspect to it.  Check out some of the games from Guitarcade in the trailer below. Capcom Impresses With ‘Deep Down’ Trailer at TGS

September 19th, 2013 by

deep_downOne of the many reveals coming out of the Tokyo Game Show this week is Capcom’s trailer for their Playstation 4 exclusive, Deep Down.  While the trailer doesn’t give an overly large amount of detail with regards to the plot, there are clearly scenes set in the future, and those set in medieval times.  The first thing that came to my mind was Assassin’s Creed and the Animus, but I suppose we’ll have to wait until launch to see if that comparison is even close.  The graphics shown in the video are incredible, especially when our hero is doing face-to-face combat with a fire-breathing dragon.  The action is very fluid and intense, and the game appears to use unusual camera angles, which give an interesting perspective of the environments.  Check out the trailer below to fully understand what I’m talking about. September 19th, 2013 by

dark souls 2 logoJust yesterday at the Tokyo Game Show, developer FromSoftware and publisher Namco Bandai gave us a brand new trailer for their upcoming sequel, Dark Souls II.  In that trailer you will be taunted, or urged to “Go Beyond Death”, their new slogan that plays on the previous slogan of “Prepare to Die”, used for the first game.  The setting appears to be what you would expect from a Dark Souls sequel: grim, bleak, dull shades of colour, and pretty much everything else they can think of to make you feel depressed and alone.  Excited yet?
