EA Will Not Be Using Online Passes Going Forward – Information and a Rant Within!

May 16th, 2013 by

EA-LogoThat’s right folks, EA has officially announced that they will no longer be supporting the ‘online pass’ initiative we all loved to hate.  No more not being able to play online with a rental copy of a game, a borrowed copy from a friend, or even a marginally discounted used game purchase.  Online passes have affected games like Dead Space, Battlefield 3, most recent EA Sports games and many more.  Luckily, things will seemingly go back to the way they were when we were kids (5 years ago).  As long as you have the game in your system, you will (should) be able to play it and all the features that come with it on that disc.  Progress right?  At the very least this move will help keep the online communities brimming with new and old players alike, instead of cutting off all those gamers who don’t have an Online Pass for their game (and don’t feel like buying a 156kb code from the market for $10!). Wolfenstein: The New Order Shows Off Some Screenshots

May 14th, 2013 by

WOLF_ID_type_whiteBethesda released some new screenshots this week of their upcoming title, Wolfenstein: The New Order, where you will see futuristic robots and artillery emblazoned with swastikas.  These screenshots have such an interesting impact, as they give off a sense of science fiction with the technology, but then reels you back into history with the look of the Nazis.  The feeling isn’t even really describable.  What I can say, though, is that these images are stunning, and if the game quality holds up to the graphics quality, we’re in for one hell of a shooter.  See some of the images below. The Bureau: XCOM Declassified’s Second Trailer, “Origins”, Hits the Internet

May 13th, 2013 by

the_bureau_xcom_declassified_box_artThe second trailer for the upcoming installment in the XCOM franchise, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, finally gives us a little taste of what we’ll find in game, along with a little more information on the setting and events that will take place.  Shown as a largely redacted style government video, it really creates the feel that they are going for.  Everything is top secret.  Need to know basis only.  I really like the way they are slowly giving us these information and videos, I personally find that it adds to the whole atmosphere and is doing a pretty darn good job of getting me pumped.  Check out the “Origins” trailer below. Batgirl Confirmed As Second DLC Character for Injustice

May 9th, 2013 by

batgirlThe second DLC character for Injustice: Gods Among Us is confirmed, and this time it comes in the form of Batgirl.  Warner Bros released an announcement trailer for the female caped crusader, which started with a bit of a history lesson.  We’re told of one of Batgirl’s encounters with the Joker from the comics where she is ambushed, and now it’s time for her to get some revenge for this brutal attack.  The trailer then follows with gameplay footage of a battle between Batgirl and what I can only call Tourist Joker.  Check out the trailer below. Fables: The Wolf Among Us – New Screenshots

May 8th, 2013 by

Fables-logoTellTale Games has given us some Fables love today in the form of some new screenshots for their upcoming game, The Wolf Among Us.  Taking a cue from their success with The Walking Dead, it looks like they don’t want to change the formula that worked for them then, and as such have kept a very similar art style for The Wolf Among Us.  That’s not a bad thing in the slightest though, as The Walking Dead was quite a visually striking game.  My favorite has got to be the one where you get to see a napping little piggy on a couch, with a still lit cigarette in his mouth.  Classic Fables.  Check them out below. Remember Me Pre-Order Bonus Meets Street Fighter, Video Interview With Creative Director Jean-Maxime and Trailer

May 8th, 2013 by

remember-meRemember Me is, to me, a mixed bag of excitement and eye-rolling.  What I mean by that is that somehow this game has had me pretty excited when it was first revealed at E3 2012, only to be followed up a few months later with the completely ridiculous, cringe worthy, ”Kid Xmas” trailer that I openly tore apart after watching it.  Since then though, Capcom has released a couple new trailers that remind me why I was so excited in the first place.  It’s a pretty crazy rollercoaster that leaves me wondering what direction the game will actually be following; that of the great reveal and launch date trailers, or that of the I’d-rather-tear-out-my-own-eyes ”Kid Xmas” trailer.  In any case, read on for information on pre-order bonuses, a new video interview with Creative Director Jean-Maxime, and the recent launch date trailer. Borderlands 2′s Fourth DLC Leaked – Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep

May 3rd, 2013 by

tiny_tina_borderlands_2It has been a while since we have posted anything about Borderlands 2.  There was a time there where our main page gave everyone the impression that we were just a Borderlands 2 news site.  But, as with everything, time moved on and so did we.  Well, enough of that!  It has been leaked that Borderlands 2′s fourth DLC installment will be one titled “Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep”.  How do we know this?  A picture put out by Gearbox’s lead writer, Anthony Burch, which was promptly deleted (but can be seen below), shows a poster in the background for none other than Tina Tiny herself, along with the new logo for this DLC.
