Review – Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons

May 2nd, 2013 by

Double-Dragon-II_XBLAboxart_160-thumbTypically, superlatives in gaming are reserved for the best of the best games.  It’s not often you get the opportunity to use superlatives when talking negative about something.  However, today is that day.  Double Dragon 2: Wander of the Dragons is the worst game of this generation.  How this game was ever published is beyond me. Developer Gravity has taken the legacy that comes with the Double Dragon franchise and beat it to a pulp. (more…)

Review – Bioshock Infinite

April 12th, 2013 by

bioshock-infinite-logo-01Since its trailer at E3 2011, expectations for Bioshock Infinite have been as high as its setting.  The expectations were then brought even higher when the release date was pushed back for further polish.  Yet somehow, Irrational Games managed to meet these ‘Sky High’ expectations and in most cases exceed them.  They’ve managed to create a world that is vastly different from the original Bioshock’s rapture, yet feels like it fits into the style of the Bioshock universe.  The world is filled with memorable, fully realized characters, who deliver some real emotion.  And a story that ranks up there as one of the best and most thrilling narratives that the gaming industry has ever seen.  Even though there are a few hiccups along the way, the sheer brilliance of the game makes it easy to look past them.
